Advanced Energy Systems

With the current concerns about global warming and the desire to wisely utilize a variety of energy assets, CSE has the experience and capabilities to develop, assess, and optimize new systems to generate usable energy. CSE has the tools and experience to analyze and optimize complex thermodynamic cycles, including modeling the individual components of a power cycle. CSE uses a variety of analytical methods and tools when conducting these studies, including system modeling codes such as GateCycle or component modeling codes.
Small changes in the operating conditions or component efficiency can have significant effect on the working cost and profitability of power generation systems. CSE has examined the role of individual components on overall performance of power generation systems, including simple- and combined-cycle gas turbines, nuclear steam supply systems, and fossil boiler systems. The impact of fuel type on system efficiency and profitability has also been examined.
